The newly wrapped truck!
Thanks to my grandmother, I was introduced to the great outdoors and the world of fishing. She always had time to take me fishing in all the Mississippi Bayous and backwaters of southern Missouri. She took up the sport after my uncle was killed at the end of WWII. She loved to cane pole fish for anything that would bite. The bowfin in this picture was caught by her in a flooded swamp called “Duck Creek” near Puxico Missouri and was her lifelong prize catch. Although she passed many years ago while living in her home town of Oran, Missouri, her memories live vividly in my mind and heart every time I hit the water to fish. Thanks to her, I now have a passion for the great sport and all that it means to everyone.
Love,
Your Grandson,
Dan
